Today is National Puzzle Day! Research continues to show that solving jigsaw puzzles stimulates the occipital lobe (visual cortex), improves mood, reduces agitation and slows the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
Alzheimer's patients receive a rare sense of accomplishment when solving jigsaw puzzles. Solving puzzles is even sweeter if kids and Alzheimer's patients work together when solving a jigsaw puzzles.
